Insurance Amounts
*The FDIC insures deposits up to $250,000 for each depositor, for each insured bank. This insurance amount is temporary, through December 31, 2009.
TCF National Bank is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under the program, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account through December 31, 2009. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
The FDIC provides separate insurance coverage for deposit accounts held in different categories of ownership. It is possible to qualify for more than $250,000 in coverage at an insured bank if you own deposit accounts in different ownership categories.
